Finished Today.
I guess even the people who made some right decisions couldn't get things to work out in Iraq. Not in 1-2 years, anyway.

Valencia
by Michelle Tea
Really interesting to see inside this world, but man, so many drugs. Too many - I wish I could find out what happens to the characters 25 years later, like at the end of A Scanner Darkly.

The Amber Spyglass
by Philip Pullman
Some interesting ideas and interesting images, but man, obvious religious evangelism is cheesy and lame, even when it's for my religion.

The Long Walk Home - Paul Franklin's Journey from Afghanistan >>> A Soldier's Story
by Liane Faulder
Finished today.
So, in case the fact that there are three titles didn't tip you off, this isn't very professionally written. But, it's about a good guy, and his story is interesting, if unfinished.
Oh, and the guy the book is about handed me my copy right after he signed it for me. I didn't even intend to buy the book (I had never heard of it) until I saw him there.

Dream Angus
by Alexander McCall Smith
Finished today.
It was weird to read Alexander McCall Smith writing something that wasn't light-hearted comedy, but it was good.

The Subtle Knife
by Philip Pullman
Finished today.
These books aren't really books. They're each like 1/3 of a book. They're still good, though.
